Memorial Christian Church was established on the campus of the University of Michigan to provide a faith home for students during their formative years. I has been a venue for them to explore issues of faith among a Christian community.
Many Students have made Memorial Christian Church their church. They have found a group of Christians that often became a family away from home and begun lifelong friendships.
Students are always welcomed and appreciated.
Beyond the congregational connections, the church has a long rich relationship with the campus ministry at Guild House just two blocks away.
Guild House Campus Ministry is a gathering place for Progressive Christian Students at the University of Michigan.
It offers a variety of programs to make the connections between our Christian faith and issues of peace, justice, sustainability, and life in general.
These two aspects of religious life have provided students with an opportunity to participate in two complementary Christian communities. Many life long friendships have come out of this relationship. One student went on to fill the role of wise beloved pastor of Memorial Christian Church for forty years.
