Welcome.  College students and Thirty-somethings who are wondering about the nature of God in today’s world.  The struggles of a changing

world can become intense for some.  What happens if we open ourselves to encountering God in all of life, through every aspect of our lives

with the perspectives that make us all uniquely ourselves?  That in itself might help us find and experience God in deeper ways and in places

than we have ever known before.  Think about it.  You may even want to sit down with others in a dialogue about the things that have shaped

them.

Do we and should we seek to engage and influence the culture we are in, or do we batten down the hatches and resist and protect ourselves

from the culture around us?  18-Thirty-somethings who are wondering if their passions can have an impact or if a demand for clarity and justice

can really touch their connections to family and communities.  The search for relevancy, authenticity, and the chance to learn to value and equip

those whom God calls to work in the world  -- makes it possible for anybody to be the church in the world.  Please join us.

2008-09 Program:   College students and Thirty-somethings who are interested in opening up a spiritual window or two during the month to

connect with God in the company of others who want to do the same.  The group is open to young adults new to Christianity, returning to the

church after a time away, or simply wanting to reach a deeper life with God.  We have a time of worship, bible study, prayer and also have time

to relax in comfortable settings.

•  Sept. 21, 2008 – Feb. 1, 2009:  Beginnings:  An Introduction to the Spiritual Life?  A ten-week study of Christian spirituality that introduces

spiritual “habits of the heart,” such as centering, loving, serving, questioning, and engaging.   Study and small group discussions will focus on:

Where is the spirit in spirituality?  What is most important to me?  Can I find balance in a whirlwind world?   What do I do with my doubts?

Can a change in me change the world?

•  Feb. 15, 2009 – April 19, 2009:  Simply Christian:  Why Christianity Makes Sense:  Why have humans, in all places and times yearned for

beauty, truth, spirituality, and justice?  In this study, based on his best-selling book, N. T. Wright contends that we long for these things

because we hear the echoes of God’s voice.  With a fresh presentation of the timeless truths of Christianity, Wright makes the case that

faith is both reasonable, necessary and rewarding for us today.

•  May 3, 2009 – June 21, 2009:  Serving from the Heart:  The focus is on helping people uncover their gifts and talents for service.  The study

will lead people through an assessment of their spiritual gifts, abilities, dreams, experiences, and individual styles – all adding up to an

enhanced capacity to serve God and neighbor.
